Dearbhail McDonald is an award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster. She is the former group business editor of Independent News and Media, and now presents a weekly current affairs programme, Sunday with Dearbhail, on BBC Radio Ulster.


The Newry-born writer studied law at Trinity College Dublin and journalism at Dublin City University. She went on to receive the Mary Cummins Award for Women of Outstanding Achievement in the Media, the Dublin City University Alumni Achievement Award for her contribution to public affairs journalism, and Irish Tatler Media Woman of the Year.


Her recent RTÉ documentary, Fertility Shock, addressed the future of work, diverse workforces and the impact of fertility trends on economic growth.
