FAQ

  • What does Hybrid mean?
While many major events are going virtual with pre-recorded sessions, live webinars and many speakers at home, Future Human 2020 will take place live on stage in Dublin and will be broadcast in real time to the world. In 2021, it will likely remain Hybrid with the return of our large in-person event, accompanied by a virtual event offering for those who cannot travel to Dublin.

  • How exactly will the event work in October 2020 and will it be the equivalent of the physical event?
It will be the same world-class line-up with many speakers yet to be announced, plus a range of workshops, Q&As, and lots of networking opportunities. The core event will be condensed into two half days on October 29th and 30th, in order to facilitate ease of live participation by our international audience. It will kick off at 1pm GMT, 8am EST and 8pm APAC. However, there will be other social gatherings online to be announced.
  • How safe is the studio for speakers and collaborators?
We have extremely strict safety protocols and physical distancing for all speakers and collaborators in studio, backstage and on stage, and we have sanitisation stations and equipment in place. Mask-wearing is recommended for speakers getting mic’ed up.
  • What is a Future Human @ Home pack?
A special pack with Future Human goodies to enhance the experience and help you feel more like you’re at the live event will be mailed to your home, with guidance on how to get the best value out of your day. These are currently only available for executive ticket holders but may be made available as add-ons to general ticket holders at a later date, should numbers allow.
  • I’m a student, are there any discounts available?
Yes. Please check out our ticket section, where you can apply for a 50% student discount code. You will require some form of student ID or letter from your college.
  • I purchased a Future Human ticket for the original May 2020 dates. Will this ticket be valid for the new dates?
We are offering a special deal where your ticket automatically transfers to the live event in 2021 and, as a bonus, you will receive a complementary ticket to our Future Human 2020 Hybrid event, at the same level as your original ticket, e.g. Executive, General Admission, Student.
  • Is Future Human 2021 going ahead?
Yes, health and safety conditions permitting, Future Human 2021 will take place in October at the state-of the-art new Trinity Business School in Dublin, Ireland – our planned venue for 2020.
  • If I can’t make a session, will the video talks be available after the event?
This event will be all about live participation. While some limited highlights and sessions will be broadcast on Siliconrepublic.com in the days following the event, the rest of the talks will be broadcast over the year on a staggered basis. All sessions will be available on demand for executive ticket holders during November and December as part of their package.
  • Will I be able to connect with other attendees?
Yes, there will be multiple opportunities for connection on our Live Event Platform and on our Event App. Connections and collaboration have always been at the core of our event and the Hybrid event will be no different.
  • What’s the duration of the event?
The core event will be condensed into two half days on October 29th and 30th, in order to facilitate ease of participation by our international audience. It will kick off at 1pm GMT, 8am EST and 8pm APAC. There will also be ancillary events announced, such as social gatherings and a launch livestream. Keep an eye on the site for details.
  • Do I need to download any apps or programs to attend the event?
No, our event platform will be very easy to access on your desktop or laptop once you are a valid registered ticket holder. We do however recommend that you download the mobile app, as this will be another great way to connect and reach out to other attendees in advance of the event, to check out the schedule or select your key talks in advance.
  • Are under 18s able to attend the event?
Under 18 are welcome, but must be registered by a guardian, using the guardian’s details.
